Join the fun: be a Bridge Volunteer
The Bridge: A School/Community Partnership is a 501c3 non-profit organization that places volunteers in the Melrose Public Schools. Bridge volunteers enrich teaching and learning for students from preschool through high school. Some volunteers offer just an hour or two during the school year, while others give countless hours to their schools and school communities. Our view is that each and every one of these contributions are powerful - bringing a diversity of culture, skills, experience, and perspective.
The Bridge has served the Melrose Public Schools since 1993, and registers over 1000 volunteers annually. The Bridge conducts background checks on all volunteers to help keep our schools safe, and maintains a database of all volunteers, allowing a single registration and CORI check to cover volunteering in any of the eight Melrose Public Schools. This database also allows The Bridge to serve as a resource for educators who are looking for volunteers with specific experience to enrich student learning.

Support The Bridge
The Bridge is excited to announce new ways to support our work.
Previously, we’ve primarily focused our fundraising efforts on sponsorships and teams for our biggest fundraising event, the Trivia Bee. This year we’ve launched new annual and event sponsorships, and we’re hopeful that you’ll consider supporting our work for calendar year 2025.
If you can, we ask you to support The Bridge by joining our Honor Roll, donating an item to our annual Bee Online Auction, or sponsoring one of our events. There are various ways to contribute to our work which strengthens the connections between our schools and our community.
